"No Flag" produced by London on da Track, featuring Nicki Minaj, Offset from the Migos, and 21 Savage released yesterday on the Tidal streaming service. Of course Nicki Minaj had some rather interesting bars where people are assuming she's throwing shots at newcomer female rapper Cardi B. Here's what Onika said on her verse:

Lil bitch I heard these labels tryna make another me
Everything you getting, lil hoe, is cause of me
I heard I’m stopping bags, word to Shaggy it wasn’t me
These bitches is my sons, but they daddy ain’t bust in me
I’m a white picket fence bitch, you a on the bench bitch
See me in the gym, now these bitches wanna go bench press
I ain’t fucking with you sis, we ain’t with the incest
Yes I am the Queen, I’m still trying to find a princess

Like 90% of current hip-hop and rap, this whole song is sub par. Anywho, a lot of fans are debating about whether or not the "lil bitch" line is referring to Cardi B since "lil bitch" is a term Cardi has been known to use. The "stopping bags" line like seems to be about Remy Ma since she went on the Wendy Williams show this year to discuss "Shether" and claims that Nicki Minaj was behind the scenes trying to "stop her bag".

Since Cardi B has been poppin' this summer with her hit single "Bodak Yellow", a lot of people are claiming that she's on her way to take Nicki's spot (I'll be talking about this in another blog very soon). While I'm not a fan of either of them, and I think both are equally mediocre and lyrically stagnant, I think it's wack and sad how the music industry and even fans have this "there can only be one" mentality between female rappers. I also think it's preposterous that Cardi B could take Nicki's spot. There seems to be a pattern where every summer a new female rapper comes out with a hit single (last year it was Young M.A., in 2014 it was Iggy Azalea and Dej Loaf) and people claim they're on their way to "dethrone" Nicki Minaj only to continue to make music on a lower scale. I see Cardi B no differently. Plus with the way Nicki has established herself, her connections with Drake, and even with her new deal with MAC Cosmetics, she has lost popularity immensely and I think she is slowly on the decline, but she's not leaving anytime soon.

However, Nicki Minaj fully embraces the "there can only be one"/frenemy mentality too and does quietly embrace drama as much as meddling fans and stans. Although she was seen dancing to "Bodak Yellow" and Cardi B called her a "legend", we all know Nicki doesn't take too kindly in having competition. Nicki is an expert in throwing the rock and hiding her hand and is very shady. She even liked an Instagram comment of someone stating Cardi B had "dumb ass bars".

Her manipulation games are "on fleek"and sis definitely studies the 48 Laws of Power. She'll praise another female rapper on Tuesday, then sneak diss them on Thursday. She did this with Lil' Kim, Remy Ma, Iggy Azalea, and it seems she may be doing it to Cardi B hence why there's always a mystery on who she's dissing later to find out the truth of the matter. With her history, you can't be mad at people for assuming she may be taking shots at Cardi. I don't think people always want "drama", I think some people are calling it like it is and what "it" is. Plus rappers diss and dismiss this all the time.

It would also be strange for Nicki Minaj to diss Cardi B on a song with her boyfriend Offset, but didn't LL Cool J diss Canibus on "4,3,2,1" while they were on the same song? Hey, I'm just sayin', it's all about business in the music industry.

Nicki Minaj and London on da Track have both denied rumors of dissing Cardi B, but we'll see how it all turns out.

It actually would be smart for Nicki Minaj and Cardi B to do a song together, but Nicki seems like and has shown countless times that she would rather do a million songs with a million wack male rappers before doing one mainstream song with one average or equally mediocre female rapper. In other words, I think it's sad that these two are the representatives for mainstream female rappers in 2017 and people are legit debating on who's "better". People state that male rappers throw shots at each other all the time so there should be a none issue with Nicki throwing shots. This is accurate, male rappers do throw shots all the time. However, male rappers know when to work with one another, Nicki hasn't shown this type of comradery with other female rappers. We'll discuss this in depth soon, make sure you subscribe to get the notification.

Do you think Nicki Minaj is throwing shots at Cardi B and/or Remy Ma in "No Flag"?
