Vintage Prom Fashion Ideas 2018

It's that season again! Prom season. Ah the grace, glamour, and memories of leaving high school and entering college. A perfect coming of age into young adulthood. One of my favorite things about going on prom is how unique my ensemble was. I wore a lovely magenta dress with my grandmother's fur stole, satin gloves, and a finger wave to create the 1930's old Hollywood look! Had I been up on vintage back in the day, I would've definitely made sure the dress was an authentic piece from "back in the day".

I truly believe one of the best (and most inexpensive) ways for soon to be grads to stand out in the prom party crowd is to rock one of a kind vintage dresses. Think about it; no one else will be wearing the same dress as you or even the same style! KLT Vintage & Retro has curated a bunch of the most fabulous formal gowns, tops, and more to fashion a distinct look for a night to remember!

Want to go for a simple, late 1990's look? Check out this fabulous Ravegirl bustier dress!

A black and white combo is forever a classic! Especially with a red lip and pearls! This puff sleeved, bow gown screams 1980's.

Roberta's magenta and black, off shoulder, short dress is breathtaking! The faux pearl brooch is a killa!

1920's does 1980's with this light aqua, sequined, and beaded long sleeved dress! This beauty with a fur stole and vintage curls will make any young lady a true show stopper!

Play it simple, but flashy with David Alan California's 1980's sequined and fringe shoulder all black dress.

Champagne is the color of success. This 1980's Stenay beaded gown says it all.

Turn heads in the prom room room with this short, off shoulder dress from Zum Zum.

Keep it elegant and classic in this 1980's, off shoulder, beaded and sequined, pleated gown!

This 90's Jessica McClintock for Gunne Sax tiger print dress is for the young wild child.

How can you NOT love sequins?! This black and silver Stenay gown is truly a winner.

It's perfectly fine to go the more "casual" route for prom season! That's why Ultra Dress's sparkly, three tiered dress is perfect!

This is totally a wedding dress, but does that really matter? Nope!

If THIS black and metallic gold short gown ain't 80's....I don't know what is!

For the quirky gals. Sherri Martin black floral cheongsam. Red lips, red heels, messy updo, and a green clutch. You're welcome.

This gorgeous 1980's Creative Creations black and silver sequin dress is giving me 1960's mod vibes. It would look stunning with a Twiggy look.

Honey! You must accessorize! What better way to pair an all black, red, or even white gown than with a La Regale Ltd sequined purse? Super cute!

En Francias by Huey Waltzer jeweled shoulder gown will make any senior the talk of the prom.

Navy blue is a classic color! Pair it with sheer fabric and you've got something divalcious on your hands! This Saks Fifth Avenue gown is everything and more.

Black and gold is a brilliant combination just like this vintage 1990's Brilliante by JA short, beaded dress!

Some gals just wanna keep it vintage and simple! The Roberta silver and dark plum spaghetti strap dress will help achieve that goal.

Try something new! A short, puff sleeved dress adorned with rhinestones.

Channel a classic lady in red for prom night! This 1980's vintage, lace trimmed dress will definitely do the trick.

Zum Zum's short, diamond cut back out, sequin sleeved dress plus a pair of red heels will turn all the heads on the prom dancefloor!

For the flashy and sassy gals! This short, off shoulder, metallic gold and black dress will make you the vintage belle of the ball!

It would be a swell idea to try something different for an occasion like prom! How 'bout a sequined blouse? So elegant, sparkly, and fabulous. This Stenay blue formal top would fare well with a cool fascinator hat, high heels, a fur stole, and a flamboyant tulle skirt!

Roberta's 1990's sheer sleeve, fitted, sequin dress is so sassy! This one is for the lovelies who want to show a lil' leg and easily bust a move on the dancefloor!

This Ronni Nicole champagne, rhinestone studded gown may seem a bit plain, but a vintage Hollywood or flapper theme would be amazing with this one!

Hashtag #AllBlackEverything. Nuff said for this timeless Jessica Howard gown!

Laurence Kazar beaded and sequined blouse plus a deep purple or turquoise tutu is a killer for an 80's themed prom or just to try something different.

The 1980's meets the 1920's in Miss Dorby's black and white, polka dot, drop waist dress.

Bold, unique, and full of character and plenty flava! These vintage pieces will have any girl the standout prom queen of the evening!
