3rd Annual Bantu Festival Saturday July 29, 2017

Summer is right around the corner and I'm super excited. I have a feeling this is going to be an amazing season. A couple of months ago, we gave y'all the official Chicago Summer 2017 Festival & Event List highlighting all of the great things to do and fun places to attend. Seriously, there's something to get into every weekend and it's literally impossible to be bored. One of my personal favorite festivals in the Bantu Fest. I vended my artwork at the event for the past two years and the turn out was amazing. There's always good vibes, positivity, and an overall fun event.

The Bantu Fest started in June 2015 by Bantu Entertainment, a music entertainment group founded in 2005 by Cameroon native Silvan Songo and his wife Aisse. The Bantu Fest celebrates Pan-African unification, supporting Black owned businesses (group economics) and community outreach through "edutainment" (education and entertainment) The festival will have live performances featuring artists from Chicago and countries like Jamaica, Haiti, Mali, and Ghana, food, vendors, crafts and it's free.99!

Check out the official promo video for the fest:

Bantu Fest will be held at the Midway Plaisance in the Hyde Park neighborhood on July 29. 2017 from 10am-10pm. This is a family fun event, so be sure to bring the kiddies out to enjoy!

I'll be present at the Bantu Fest this year covering the event and hosting an art table for the youth. If you're interested in vending or participating, please contact Bantu Entertainment for more information.
