Product Review: Maple Holistics Silk18 Shampoo

Another day, another slay! Welcome to April, y'all. Hope this month has been treating you all good, as well as the new season! It's s surreal to have good weather after this tragic winter we had in Chicago. Since the weather is poppin' more, I'm definitely going to wear my natural hair "out" (in an afro state) more often. Protective style season is officially over!

With that being stated, I was honored to review Maple Holistics' Silk18 Shampoo they sent ya girl a while back. I reviewed quite a few of MH's natural products before and I've had no complaints. It's been the same experience with their Silk18 Shampoo. Let's get into the deets:

Size: 10oz

Price: $12.95

Ingredients: Silk Amino Acids, Botanical Keratin, Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, Natural Vanilla Fragrance, Aqua.

Description: "Achieve stronger, smoother, more luscious hair with silk18 shampoo. Infused with a rejuvenating blend of 18 silk amino acids which help fortify hair follicles and strengthen strands to protect hair from dryness, breakage, damage, split ends, and hair fall...:

  • Lightweight shampoo
  • Great on natural afro textured hair
  • Mild scent
  • Obtains moisture
  • Softens hair
  • Assists in aiding damaged hair
  • Silky, smooth texture
  • A little bit goes a long way
  • Doesn't strip hair
  • None
As a naturalista, I've always been a bit suspicious of shampoos not geared towards natural afro textured hair, however Maple Holistic came through with the goodness. I feel like this shampoo is actually a cleansing shampoo with a lot of moisturizing properties. As I do on all wash days, after washing my hair, I conditioned and did the LOC method. Afterwards, my hair came out as clean, crisp, fluffy, and moisturized as possible. Since this shampoo is so pro-moisture, I think it'd be great to use all year round!

  1. Wow, cool post. I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real hard work to make a great article... but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though. Eyyaa
