Look of the Day: Im Blue Da Ba Dee...Low Budget Kelis

This as been one of the strangest summers ever thanks to Covid-19. I barely got any looks in because there aren't many places to frequent. Plus, who has time to be risking their life for the 'rona? Not I. Luckily, I did manage to get one major look in that I've been planning on since winter. I wanted to come through and end summer with a bang with my "Low Budget Kelis" look! I've always loved the artistry and style of Harlem singer and now chef Kelis Rogers since I was a child. She is definitely one of my earliest and most favorite fashion inspirations.

I wanted to create a late 90's/early 2000's look based off this sumptuous blue floral Steppin' Out sleeveless dress.

I just had to add in some metallic, holographic pieces to compliment the style of the era. I mean that with blue freaking hair? I would have certainly been ready to attend a Summer Jam fest circa 2000.

At first I was a bit apprehensive of how this would all come together seeing that it's so much blue, but it came out perfectly! *cues "Blue" by Eiffel 65.
