Look of the Day: Southwest(side) Connection ☀️🌵👢

I'm bringing the hood to the ranch, celebrating the last few days of spring and the beginning on the summer equinox. What better way to do it than with a LOTD post?! I went on one of my thrifting adventures a few months back and came across this fye ass turquoise dress and was like "Yup I'm rocking this with my cowgirl boots." Since my mom put me on years ago, I've always loved the cowboy culture and look, but nowadays I'm really lovin' it. This dress is tagless, but it screams vintage 1990's, Arizona/New Mexico tourist shop realness. I love that it's oversized and can be worn as a dress or with a pair of jeans.

It was 93 degrees out here in Chi-Town, but that didn't stop me from rocking my 1883 Lucchesse snakeskin cowgirl boots. What's a Southwest dress without a good pair of cowgirl boots? Contray to popular belief, your feet don't even get super hot wearing them. I mean cowboys and cowgirls wear them in dessert/hot climates all the time.

To be honest with y'all, I'm not sure if this is a nightgown or a dress, but y'all know how I do it 'round these parts; I wear what I want, how I want to!

I also purchased that super cute, Navajo-inspired purse while thrifting too. Accessories are the icing on the cake to fashion looks, so I wore a pair of vintage cowgirl boot earrings, turquoise necklace, and some other bold pieces of jewelry. And of course I'm bringing back my 1980's vintage white and black cateye shades. I've been wanting to try the bobby pin look for a while since its been resurrected from the 90's. I used Scunci's Curved bobby pins in "Blonde" with my sassy lil' space buns I wore the night before twerking for liberation and the club.

Even though I don't wear makeup like that in the summer because what's the point when it's gonna melt off? I had to add a pop of color for a natural look using my BH Cosmetics 88 Matte eyeshadow palette. Winged line is becoming my thang now, so more of those looks will definitely soon come.

This look has me super excited for more summer fashion. Stay tuned for the (summetime) fierceness!
