Anyone who knows me personally or follows TDS knows I'm a sucker for 1980's vintage sequined fashions! What else says "fabulous" other than a badass sequin dress? Don't worry, I'll wait. Not only does this 80's A.J. Bari for Neiman Marcus have the sequin embellishments down packed, but the black and white puff sleeves equal the cherry on top! I'm not a huge fan of wearing black because I adore bring colors, but this beauty was too amazing to pass up.

Usually when I wear more formal styled dresses, I opt to go for rhinestone studded jewelry. This time I wanted to keep it simple since the dress speaks so loudly. I decided to wear a pair of square shaped, black and white colorblock earrings with this look. It gives such a classic retro vibe! Of course to accessorize I had to rock my black satin gloves, 1980's Brio! clutch, and my Oka-B "Bella" rhinestone flats (because heels aren't always necessary!).
I'm coming to the realization I'm not into this trend of heavy makeup, even when it may be more acceptable for glam looks such as this. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but embracing simplicity has been becoming my thing all the while staying my true self with my unique style. I was considering creating a fascinator hat for this look similar to the one I made for my "Great Gatsby Meets the 1980's" look, but minimalism is the best! I grabbed a bottle of Aphogee Curlific! Curl Definer and created a lowbun with some Jamaican Kinky-Marli Braid hair in KJMB 2 from Vivica A. Fox's Hair Collection.
The backdrop at the Acme Hotel was so dope with the retro theme! I just had to get in on it and I think it looks perfect with this black and white glam look.
