This burgundy and black color scheme is perfection for any season but especially for autumn and winter. When I first got this top this past summer, I knew I had to go for a soft grunge look! Grunge and soft grunge derives from the grunge music genre and both were highly popular in the 1990's. In layman's terms, grunge fashion is more of a milder and colorful version of punk rock fashion and culture.
Look Rundown:
Wilson Leather 2000's rabbit fur coat
Joule vintage 90's top
Leslie Belle vintage 90's blazer
White Stag vintage 90's black pants
Franco Sarto dark brown leather booties
Dooney & Bourke black leather purse
Butterfly accessories from Amazon
Jewelry from H&M
Although the material of the top, jacket, and pants isn't actual velvet, all three pieces have a velvet look and feel, which again is great for seasonal styling. I had this Wilsons Leather rabbit fur jacket for ages and among building this look a light bulb went off and gave the already grungey look a late 90's pop music flavor Britney and Christina could NEVA!
Overall, I'm so in love with this look, but what really makes me googly eyed is the butterfly clips! After washing my hair the night before and adding in some Shea Moisture Curling Gel Souflee, I added in a ponytail in the front and two butterflies. The butterflies totally compliment the streaks of blue, pink, and purple in my rabbit fur coat too. And of course these super rad and colorful faux stone earrings compliment both as well!
It may be a bit "much" (haha), but this is a simple, laid back style for me! A minimalist steelo with pops of color! "90's style, thee finest style."
